Imre Kiralfy was the worlds most prominent showbiz producer 100 years ago. He was known for producing huge stage spectacles in major cites around the world, including New York, London, Paris, Brussels, Chicago, Philadelphia, etc. He built the Great White City in London and hosted the 1908 Olympic games there. He produced numerous Exhibitions including the Anglo American Exhibition of 1908 in London. He was a very accomplished man. His Broadway production of the play Excelsior was the first show on Broadway to have electric lighting, and was personally designed and installed by Thomas Edison.

Someday I will make some web pages with more information about the things he did. My dad has boxes full of old Kiralfy things, including important letters, and photo's, some with Imre Kiralfy with the King and Queen of England.

My dad scanned an old 3 page letter, from Imre's son, Albert Kiralfy, my great great Grandpa, to his mother, telling her about being on the Mayor of New York's boat, with his dad, welcoming the return of the American War Fleet. They went up the Hudson River to Grants Tomb, cannons firing, surrounded by war ships. What a sight it must have been!
